Our Location = SAVE $$$$$$$$

May 22, 2008

Every year about this time Innkeepers and Restaurant owners in many Berkshire
locations go through the annual ritual of raising their rates in anticipation of
a busy summer season. To the locals that frequent Berkshire restaurants we are
amazed at how the prices increase. The attitude is: “If they will pay it we will charge it”
Many room rates in Lee, Lenox, Stockbridge and Great Barrington actual double!

Over the last twenty four years we have reduced mid week rates but never increased our
peak season rates. We don’t want a guest to say “Why have your rates doubled when your provided the same facilities to us two weeks ago for half the price.

With the economy in shambles….gas $4.00 a gal..maybe it’s time to consider a vacation location in the Berkshires that is NOT AROUND THE CORNER TO TANGLEWOOD !
The Williamstown area (Northern Berkshire County) is about 30 minutes north and offers
reasonable rates(not cheap rates) for rooms and meals and great attractions like the
Clark Museum, Williamstown Summer Theatre, Mt.Greylock, beautiful scenery, Jiminy
Peak( tons of stuff for kids to do there in the summer) and a variety of other first class
cultural and recreational opportunities.

Yes, you will have to drive another half an hour but you will save a bundle. There are no
$18.00 hamburgs or $32.00 chicken dinners here. When you have dinner in a local restaurant here you will not be sitting in the lap of your neighbor forced to listen to a conversation you don’t want to hear. There are no traffic jams and you will always find a place to park. Room rates are, in most cases, half of what you would pay for the convenience of being close to Tanglewood. Our rates Sunday-Thursday are what they were in 1985 and the hospitality and quality remains excellent.

It’s time this summer to be a smarter traveler. Consider us as your Berkshire summer
vacation destination.
