Otis State Forest

Location

The Otis State Forest is located in Otis, Mass. on Route 23 between Otis and Monterey. Access is directly off Route 23.

History

This forest, comprising over 3,800 acres was established in 1923. The highest.elevation is about 1,600 feet.

Facilities

There are numerous trails for hiking, snowmobiling, snowshoeing.

Activities

Hunting and fishing are allowed on this forest in accordance with State Fish and Game laws. Permits should be obtained from town clerks.

Points of Interest

The Old Boston to Albany Road (Knox Trail) goes through this forest. Nearby the Otis Ski Area is very popular.
